The Annual conferences of the Urban Economy Forum is by nature a platform to extensively discuss and deliberate innovative ideas on sustainable urban development. Papers and presentations are invited on the central theme and diverse related topics from all disciplines of inquiry relating to the Urban. Following the disruptive and destabilizing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Housing Industry and Urban Recovery in the Post Covid-19 World is proposed as the central theme for UEF 2021. 


All presenters are granted free admissions to UEF 2021.


Topics & Themes

UEF is calling for papers in the fields of economics, sustainable urbanism, climate impacts and social sciences. Academic articles and/or presentations in the nature of theoretical, experimental, and applied research in fields are invited, such as but not limited to economics, urban studies, art, architecture, geography, history, information technology, finance, management, business, marketing, education, sociology, psychology, political science, law and other areas of social sciences.   Also included are themes such as migration, food systems, employment, manifestations of inequality, typologies of urbanization, critiques of urbanization. 


Papers that reflect direct relevance to urban economy, post COVID19 urban recovery with a focus on building back better and good practices on community participation, good urban governance and carbon neutral approach will be given priority in the selection of papers. Interdisciplinary approaches are strongly encouraged (social science, history, geography, sociology of the media, information and communication sciences, urban studies, etc.) 


Authors who choose not to submit an abstract may still be invited to participate in the conference, as an audience, to share their knowledge and experiences with other experts in a truly international atmosphere. 

The official language of the conference is English, but the presenters are free to provide translation from their language to English themselves where required. Submitted papers will be subject to peer review and evaluated based on originality and clarity of exposition.


Publication 

1.  Accepted full papers will be published online as well as in our conference publication.

2. Participants will also be able to access and download the Abstracts E-publication from (https://www.ueforum.org) web site. This publication may require an additional editing process if necessary.

Given the current climate of COVID-19 uncertainty, should some speakers be held back in their country of residence next October due to travelling restrictions, we will arrange for video/zoom-conferencing so they can still participate from a distance.
