Urban Economy Forum and Hudders Field Property Agency Launch Frontrunner Real Estate Partnership for Africa

Collaboration will connect responsible land development, affordable housing and investment with city transformation and measurable SDG outcomes

TORONTO, CANADA - September 11, 2026 - The Urban Economy Forum (UEF) and Hudders Field Property Agency of Nigeria, represented by Dr. Adeniyi Tinubu, announced at the 8th Urban Economy Forum (UEF8) a strategic collaboration to advance Frontrunner Real Estate in Africa. The partnership is intended to turn land and property opportunities into urban-development projects that generate measurable social, environmental and economic value.

The collaboration builds on a relationship initiated at UEF6 and marks a shift from dialogue toward a practical platform for project development. It recognizes that decisions about land and real estate shape far more than buildings: they influence housing affordability, access to services and opportunity, community stability, economic development and urban resilience.

"We want to advance sustainable development and the United Nations New Urban Agenda across development projects in Africa," said Reza Pourvaziry, Chair of the Urban Economy Forum. "The objective is to connect cities and global initiatives with a stronger focus on urban transformation, and to turn real-estate opportunities into sustainable development projects."

A Policy and Investment Agenda

Frontrunner Real Estate in Africa will seek to connect African cities, real-estate firms, development institutions, investors and technical partners around projects that respond to local priorities. Initial areas for collaboration include:

§ Sustainable land use and responsible real-estate development;

§ Safe, adequate and affordable housing for African communities;

§ Identification and preparation of city and real-estate project opportunities;

§ Connections among public authorities, communities, developers, investors and international networks; and

§ Alignment of future initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda.

The partners intend to promote an approach in which financial viability and public value are considered together. This means examining not only the delivery of physical assets, but also their contribution to affordability, inclusion, environmental performance, local economic opportunity and the long-term quality of urban development.

"Our ambition is to move land and real-estate development in Africa toward sustainable living and affordability," said Dr. Adeniyi Tinubu. "That means improving access to fair, adequate and affordable shelter and creating better living conditions for African communities."

From Commitment to Implementation

The next phase will focus on developing a practical work programme: identifying potential partner cities and project opportunities; convening the relevant public, private and community stakeholders; defining project-selection and implementation arrangements; exploring appropriate financing pathways; and establishing indicators for affordability, inclusion, sustainability and local impact.

Specific projects and activities will remain subject to technical assessment, local priorities, applicable approvals and separate agreements. This implementation focus is intended to ensure that the partnership moves beyond visibility toward credible projects, accountable collaboration and demonstrable urban outcomes.
