Mohammad Mehdi Mazaheri

Secretary of UN Habitat National Committee of Iran

Mohammad Mehdi Mazaheri is a well-known activist in the development and cultural field in Iran and the Middle East region. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Human Settlement National Committee and an advisor to the Minister of Roads and Urban Development. Prior to his current position, he was the president of the ECO Cultural Institute from 2016-2019. He was also a Member of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran in 2019. Dr. Mazaheri has always believed that culture is the center of development and his main focus is on this fundamental pillar of change. Besides his academic achievements as a Professor and President of Isfahan Science and Research University and Visiting Professor at AIT University, Qatar University, and Baku State University; he has held a number of valuable and high executive positions in various organizations, such as the Member Board of Trustees in Iranology Foundation and a Member Board of Trustees of Tehran University of Art in 2018. Also he has been participated in many other governmental and non-governmental organizations as a member of the Strategic Council or as a Board Member of Trustees. In these responsibilities, he demonstrated his belief in collective wisdom, has been very interactive and cooperative, and has created many new capacities in various fields. Prior to his position as an adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2014, Dr. Mazaheri was a Senior Advisor, of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Research Institute in Iran.


He also held the titles Member of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO);. Also, Dr. Mazaheri has been recognized as a prominent figure of the country three times in a decade from 2007 to 2017, and honors such as a Memorable Figure of the Management & Entrepreneurship of the Country; Outstanding Cultural Figure of the country; and a Memorable Scientific Figure. His educational experiences indicate that he completed his master's degree in management at the University of Tehran and received his doctorate in strategic management from the Russian Academy of Sciences. He also received an Honorary Doctorate in Management and Organizational Development, from AIT University. Dr. Mazaheri has published numerous books and articles, among his most important, are: Nowruz Letter; "Future Studies of Government and Media"; Eco-Organization and Cultural Security of the Member States; Future of Religion Research and New Communication Tools; Cultural Management: Concepts and Strategies; Political Geography of Europe; Cultural Intelligence: Theory, Measurement & Applications; Philosophical Novels (Critique and Analysis); Cultural Security; The Theory of 'Perfect Man' as Viewed by Molla Sadra'; Engineering Organizational Culture; Introduction to Security Research; Cultural Economics; Higher Education Planning; Analysis of Several Modern Philosophical Novels; Culture and Society; The Crisis of Spirituality in the West: A Critical Perspective of Western Thought; and an Introduction to the Political Sociology of Iran. He has also published 320 analytics in respective newspapers and websites, and he has authored 64 papers in scholarly journals. He believes in lifelong learning and he emphasizes that “it is truly a health club for our minds, bodies, and spirits. Using this health club every day helps ensure that our later years will be richer, more stimulated, and far more fulfilled. Lifelong learning is all purposeful learning activity, undertaken on an ongoing basis with the aim of improving knowledge, skills, and competence”. This is a principle that has always been present not only in his personal life but also in the social aspect of his life
