Jennifer Mirembe

Founder, African Women Architects Revival Activists, Vice Treasurer Gauteng Institute for Architecture in South Africa

Dr Jennifer Mirembe is the Vice President of the African Planners institute, and the Vice Chair for the Urban Design Institute South Africa for the Gauteng Region.


She holds a Doctor of Town and Regional Planning from the University of Pretoria – in the impact of Technology (specifically ICT) on People, Space and Planning. She graduated with an award in the Masters in City Planning and Urban Design from the University of Cape Town. 


She brings over 12 years combined working experience in the National Department of Human Settlements South Africa, and leading urban design firms in the private sector in Cape Town. She is the co-host of “Bonjour Africa” Africa’s show that presents how to solve Africa’s Urban problems in Brand New ways. She has also pioneered the 5 day campaign for physical planning and design of the interface between public space and private space virtual conferences happening from 9 to 13 August 2021 in Kampala city- Uganda, Khartoum- Sudan, Lagos – Nigeria, Cameroonian cities- Cameroon, and Gaborone- Botswana.
