Justin Trudeau
Prime Minister of Canada

The UEF2020 virtual conference started with a kind message from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:

Dear Friends:
I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to everyone participating in the Urban Economy Forum 2020. This event brings together community leaders and financial stakeholders to monitor, assess and improve the sustainable development of urban economies. I am certain that all participants will benefit from the sessions and discussions planned for the virtual edition of this year’s event, and will leave inspired to put what they have learned into practice. It has been a challenging year so far. The COVID-19 pandemic has made planning and hosting events like this especially difficult. That is why I would like to thank the dedicated organizers for making this event possible. You can take pride in your efforts to support sustainable development projects. Please accept my best wishes for a productive conference.

Sincerely,

António Guterres
Secretary General of United Nations

António Guterres, the ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations, took office on 1st January 2017.
