Urban Economy Forum and TurquoiseExpress Inc. Launch the Global “Land Foresight Hub” from Toronto

Toronto, July 31, 2025

The Urban Economy Forum (UEF), in collaboration with TurquoiseExpress Inc., is proud to announce the official launch of the Land Foresight Global Hub an international Hub dedicated to advancing sustainable land use, urban foresight, and equitable development across the globe.

While the Hub is proudly launched in Toronto, Canada, its mission and scope are global. It aims to bring together cities, institutions, thought leaders, and communities from every region to shape the future of land governance and urban transformation.

The Land Foresight Global Hub will serve as a center of excellence for forward-looking research, policy dialogue, and capacity-building, focusing on land-based solutions to critical challenges such as climate change, displacement, housing crises, and spatial inequality. It seeks to empower city-makers to reimagine the role of land not only as a commodity, but as a foundation for social prosperity and environmental balance.

“We are proud to announce this global initiative from Toronto, but our vision extends far beyond national boundaries,” said Dr. Reza Pourvaziry, Chair of the Urban Economy Forum. “Through this Hub, we are creating a global knowledge and action network that can support governments, communities, and investors in planning and building sustainable, inclusive, and resilient cities.

As a key part of the Canada Front Runner of Urban SDGs initiative, the Land Foresight Global Hub will also align closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — especially SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) — by anchoring land foresight as a strategic urban approach
