Urban Economy Forum and INTE Modular Sign Letter of Intent to Establish NextHome Global Platform
Toronto| Jun04, 2026
Toronto, Canada – June 6, 2026 — The Urban Economy Forum (UEF) and INTE Modular are pleased to announce the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) to establish a collaborative framework for advancing the NextHome Global Platform, an innovative initiative focused on accelerating sustainable, attainable, and technology-driven housing solutions in Canada and beyond.
The NextHome Global Platform represents a transformative approach to housing development by integrating advanced construction technologies, modular and prefabricated systems, innovative architectural solutions, and multi-sector partnerships. The initiative aligns with the objectives of Canada's National Housing Strategy and contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Under the collaboration, INTE Modular will contribute modular construction expertise, prefabricated building systems, deployment methodologies, and technical implementation capacity to support pilot housing projects and scalable delivery models. These efforts will help address Canada's growing housing challenges while creating new economic and employment opportunities.
The platform aims to serve as a national housing innovation ecosystem that brings together governments, developers, investors, universities, technology providers, planners, architects, engineers, and community stakeholders. By fostering collaboration across sectors, the initiative seeks to accelerate the adoption of innovative housing technologies and construction methods that improve affordability, sustainability, speed of delivery, and overall housing quality.
As part of the initiative, the NextHome Global Platform will focus on:
- Advancing alternative and sustainable housing solutions;
- Promoting modular construction, prefabrication, and emerging building technologies;
- Supporting rapid and cost-effective housing delivery;
- Facilitating collaboration between public, private, academic, and non-profit sectors;
- Encouraging environmentally responsible and resilient housing design;
- Creating opportunities for workforce development and local job creation;
- Exploring innovative financing and partnership models;
- Establishing Canada as a global testing ground for next-generation housing solutions.
A key component of the initiative will be the organization of specialized workshops and innovation programs designed to provide participants with site-specific expertise, technology exploration opportunities, rapid construction methodologies, regulatory knowledge, and collaborative design approaches focused on sustainability, resilience, accessibility, and inclusivity.
The long-term vision of the NextHome Global Platform extends beyond Canada. Successful pilot projects and innovative models developed through the initiative will be evaluated, refined, and consolidated into a replicable framework that can be implemented internationally, positioning Canada as a leader in global housing innovation.
"The housing challenges facing communities today require bold thinking, cross-sector collaboration, and the adoption of innovative technologies," said Reza Pourvaziry, Founder and President of the Urban Economy Forum.
"This Letter of Intent marks an important step toward building a platform that can help accelerate housing solutions while creating lasting economic and social impact."
“Canada urgently needs housing delivery models that combine speed, affordability, and long-term sustainability,” said Dr. Helen Tang, Executive Chair of INTE Modular.
“Through this collaboration, we aim to demonstrate how modular and advanced construction technologies can significantly reduce delivery timelines while maintaining quality and environmental performance.”
INTE Modular specializes in advanced modular construction systems and prefabricated building solutions designed to accelerate housing delivery while improving sustainability, efficiency, and construction scalability.
The signing of this Letter of Intent reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to advancing innovation, sustainability, and collaboration in the housing sector and to establishing a foundation for future partnership initiatives.
