Tassew Woldehanna

Professor Tassew Woldehanna is Professor of Economics and president of Addis Ababa University . He obtained his PhD in Household Economics from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. He is a development economist mainly interested in fiscal incidence, child welfare and poverty, employment, micro and small-scale enterprise development, entrepreneurship and food security. He has published several articles in peer review journal and book chapters in the area of poverty, fiscal management, education,  health, rural labor market, child and adolescence development, and micro and small scale enterprise development. He has very high citation as seen in Goggle Scholar. He has several research awards and currently, he is the Principal Investigator of several international projects such as Young Lives, (an international study of childhood poverty following 12, 000 children in four countries (Ethiopia, India, Vietnam and Peru), and RISE Ethiopia (A six-year project on Assessing the Impact of General Education Quality Improvement Program), Early Learning Partnership (ELP) Research Programs and a multiyear research program known as Girls and Adolescence: Global evidence (GAGE).
