Mark has established a partnership track record with Indigenous People, municipalities, federal and provincial government agencies from his impressive volume of environmental; water resources; and, urban land assignments. He is a Designated Consulting Engineer in Canada and also has a fisheries biology background.


Mark has been responsible for landmark watershed and community projects with environmental assessment; storm water management; water and wastewater treatment; alternative energy; flood plain mapping; flood damage reduction; water quality assessments; coastal protection; natural channel; and, municipal infrastructure components.


Mark’s hands-on style keeps him proficient with an extensive library of proprietary web-based decision support tools for cumulative effect assessments; environmental engineering designs; and, infrastructure performance and monitoring programs. In-house Internet (open source GIS) tools include CANWET, THREATS and ISWMS - with climate change impact and machine learning (AI) capabilities. His ability to derive efficient and practical solutions, that recognize the environment first, while complying with best available science and proven technologies, is enhanced by solid field experience. Mark has provided expert testimony at environmental and municipal planning tribunals. He has also been retained to peer review work completed by all levels of government and other engineering firms for resource industries.


In addition to his leadership and mentoring roles at the GREENLAND® Group of Companies, Mark is also an angel investor in the South Georgian Bay Region. He has expanded his support of local start-up and nationally established technology companies aligned with his social innovation and business priorities.
