About Tai and Kenny

Tai n Kenny are twins from Nigeria that have lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for over a decade working as human rights activists through their Non-governmental Organization, Youths Without Barriers. Through the same NGO, they have helped to include migrants that come from all around the world into the Brazilian society. Since 2010, the NGO in conjunction with the office of the Prefeito of Sao Paulo developed the social inclusion program that enables the migrants to study technical courses in SEBRAE, the State owned technical colleges without the payment of tuition and with that, also receive a monthly stipend from the office of the mayor during the time of study to help to contribute to the successful completion of their courses.

Presently, as a duo group Tai n Kenny, they compose, arrange and perform their original songs to address social and gender based problems. They have composed their song ‘No smoke’ which also has a music video, to address health ills caused by the use of firewood in the Nigerian rural regions. They also have performed the two songs ‘Speak Peace’ and ‘2Gether’ in different conferences around Nigeria to appeal to stakeholders and influencers in the promotion of peace and the ceasing of terrorism and terrorist activities. ‘Rachel Weeps’ is another song that was composed to commemorate the International Women’s Day and to promote women’s equality around the world. Their last studio recording ‘I Believe’ is also an original to promote immunization campaigns in less developed countries.

The duo has reached many social groups and organizations through their performances and last year, performed in the Women’s Day commemoration at the Eagle Square with over 20,000 women in attendance. Enthusiastic about their work, they are still going strong.
