Fred Schwartz 

Adjunct Professor, York University Faculty of Environmental and Urban change, Canada

Fred Schwartz is an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change at York University, and is Executive Director of York’s International Renewable Energy Academy. He is Senior Advisor and a Board Member of Lamplighter Energy, and is Director of the Solar Valley Consortium at the University of California, Riverside. He started the Remote Power Unit of the Ontario Ministry of Energy in 1981, has co-managed programs with the California Energy Commission, was Manager of Renewables and Advanced Generation for the City of San Francisco in the early 2000s and has received energy related awards from the President of the United States and US EPA. He has written Op Ed articles for The Globe and Mail and over the years has worked extensively with First Nations on housing and renewable energy projects. He currently resides in Southern California.
